Food Drive Collects Food and Funds for Green Cares

The New Glarus Elementary School wrapped up the holiday season with a four-week long food drive collecting over 1,490 pounds of food for the Green Cares Food Pantry. The Holiday Food Drive collected boxed, bagged, and canned goods, as well as hygiene products.
In addition to the Food Drive, Sarah Kranz (K-6 art teacher) ran a project called "Creating for a Cause". New Glarus Elementary 3rd and 4th grade students each created five clay ugly sweater ornaments which were given out as a thank you for every $5.00 donation to the food pantry.
