According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), almost 30.3 million people in the United States have diabetes, or 9.4% of the population. While an estimated 23 million have been diagnosed, unfortunately, 84.1 million have prediabetes. The estimated total of direct and indirect costs for this disease is 245 billion dollars.
