Hockey Ends Season with Loss

The #9 seeded Monroe co-op hockey team played a WIAA Regional game at Mandt Ice Arena against the #8 seeded Stoughton on February 13th. The final score of the game was Stoughton 3, Monroe 2.
Stoughton jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before Monroe’s Cade Janecke, assisted by Colton O’Connor, scored on a power play late in the second period. Shortly thereafter, Payton Stauffacher, assisted by Cade Janecke and Hayden Roth, scored on a power play in the third to tie it up. Three minutes later Stoughton hit the back of the net to win the game.
Goalie Heath Bear recorded 40 saves during the game.
The team ended their season with a Badger South Conference record of 1-10-1 and an overall record of 4-18-2.
