Save - Invest - Grow

Sue Moen
Elmer Lemon recently spoke to members of Monticello High School's Investment Club. Mr. Lemon donated over $10,000 to the club.
Monticello High School's inaugural Investment Club meeting started out with a short lesson from Elmer Lemon. Fitting, because not only did he donate over $10,000 to get the club started with real investments, but it's how he has lived his life. Lemon, a 1961 graduate of Monticello High School, has spent his life and career "saving," "investing," and again "giving" back to the community he grew up in and still calls home.
Assuming there are annual earnings from the club's efforts, the money will be divided three ways. They will save some of the money (for the next group of club members), they will reinvest some of the money (for future earnings), and they will give some of the money (scholarships to active senior members). Mr. Kevin Steele and Mr. Scott White will be the groups advisors as they work to help our students learn about financial independence.
