DHS Grant Fuels Expansion of Monroe Clinic Residency Program Applications Double for Spot in Rural Family Medicine Program

A recent grant by the Department of Health Services (DHS) will fund Monroe Clinic's expansion of their rural family medicine residency program. The $310,000 grant will allow the program to expand from its current six residents to a total of eight residents.

"In the past year, our applications for the residency program have doubled. Word is spreading, as young doctors become acquainted with the appeal of our mission-driven culture in a friendly, close-knit community," said Lori Rodefeld, Monroe Clinic Medical Education Coach.
