Dennis L. Funseth, age 78 of New Glarus, passed away with family by his side on Friday, January 12, 2018, at the New Glarus Home. He was born on April 27, 1939, in the Town of Primrose to his parents, Orville and Hilda (Duerst) Funseth.

Dennis graduated from New Glarus High School in 1957. On August 3, 1960, he was united in marriage to Marlene Gehin at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Belleville. Dennis worked at Erb Implement as a mechanic for thirty years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the outdoors and woodworking, but most of all he cherished his family his time spent with them.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Marlene; children, Dale (Mary) Funseth, Kevin (Mary) Funseth, and Cindy (Bob) Gilson; grandchildren, Shelby (Lane), Hayley, Aaron (Abby), Christina, Taylor, Chelsy (Ben), Rachel, and Deven; and a great-grandson, John. He is further survived by his sisters, Jean Tammi and Bonnie Funseth; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Funseth; and a sister, Donna Field.

A gathering of relatives and friends was held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Avenue, New Glarus, WI. A time of remembrance concluded the gathering at 11:30 a.m.

A celebration of Dennis's life followed from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the New Glarus Hotel Restaurant, 100 Sixth Avenue, New Glarus, WI.

A memorial fund has been established.
