Monticello Lions President Dan Roe, Lion Linn Lederman and Lion Nancy Elmer presented $500.00 scholarships to college students continuing their education. Those receiving the scholarships were Aaron Hefty, Hunter Pratt, Maddie Bartels and John Zuber.

A Retirement/Farewell party was held on January 6, 2017, for Monticello Police Chief Tom Erb. The Monticello Village Board Room was crowded with people who stopped in to wish him well after more than 41 years of service to the Village of Monticello.
