The Reuter family Christmas celebration turned into a surprise for Tom Reuter when he was awarded a Quilt of Valor on December 23, 2017. Reuter served in the US Air Force from June 1969-November 1976.

Over the past three years, the Sugar River Quilts of Valor group has donated over 400 quilts to veterans, primarily in Southwest Wisconsin.
