Avalanche Lose Two on the Road

The Monroe Avalanche co-op hockey team lost at Greendale on December 2nd, 2-8.

Greendale had scored five goals before the Avalanche’s Hayden Roth, assisted by Cade Janecke and Colton O’Connor, hit the back of the net in the third period. Shortly after, Greendale scored again, then Hayden Roth, assisted by Colton O’Connor and New Glarus player Cooper Dreyfus, scored Monroe’s second goal on a power play.

Goalie Heath Bear racked up 28 saves during the game.

The Panthers played with their claws out against the Monroe Avalanche on December 8th, scoring a victory on their home ice, 11-1.

Oregon scored four goals in the first period. Monroe’s single score came in the second period when Payton Stauffacher, assisted by Cade Janecke and Colton O’Connor, hit the back of the net at around the 16 minute mark. Apparently unsatisfied with their lead, the Panthers slammed in seven more goals to win the game.

Heath Bear had five saves for Monroe while Jayden Johnson had six saves for the team.

The Avalanche host McFarland on December 15th, and then host Viroqua on December 16th. Both games begin at 7:00 p.m., at the SLICE Arena in Monroe.
