Sugar River Wrestling Places 5 out of 5 at Black Hawk Invitational; Gerner Wins Championship

The Sugar River Wrestling team opened their season with a Dual at Lancaster on November 30th, losing to the host team 18-54.
Sugar River's Max Gerner, 138 lbs, won over Logan Schneider.
Wrestling at 145 lbs, SR's Trevor Enloe won over Isaac Oyen.
SR's Jack Diederich, wrestling at 152 lbs, won by fall over Morgan Seippel.
In the 160 lb weight class, SR's Holden Latsch fell to Owen Wolf.
SR's Daniel Enloe, wrestling at 285 lbs, lost by decision to Tyler Hale.
SR's Joe Quaglia, wrestling at 106 lbs, lost to Remington Bontreger.
Robert Chenoweth, wrestling at 126 lbs, won by fall over Andrew McCarville.
On December 2nd, the team traveled to an Invitational at Black Hawk High School.
Joe Quaglia (3-1), wrestling at 106 lbs, placed fifth and scored 13 team points. In round one, Quaglia received a bye, and in round two, he lost by fall to Remington Bontreger of Lancaster. In round three Quaglia received a bye and in round four he won by fall over Brodhead/Juda's Braden Erb. In the fifth place match, Quaglia won by fall over Darlington/Black Hawk's Aiden McGuire.
Robert Chenoweth (23-20), placed third and scored 17 team points wrestling in the 126 lb weight class. In round one, Chenoweth received a bye and in round two he won by fall over Skyler Symons of Dodgeville. In round three, Chenoweth lost by major decision to Darlington/Black Hawk's Paul King. Chenoweth won the third place match by decision over Lancaster's Andrew McCarville.
Max Gerner (28-17), wrestling at 132 lbs, placed first and scored 26 team points. Gerner received a bye in rounds one and two and in round three he won by fall over Wylie Niles of Cuba City/Benton/Southwestern. In the first place match, Gerner won by fall over Lancaster's Dylan Tydrich.
Wrestling at 138 lbs, Trevor Enloe (10-11) placed fifth and scored 15 team points. In round one Enloe won by fall over Brady Johnston of Belmont/Platteville. Enloe lost by fall to Logan Schneider of Lancaster in round two, but came back in round three to win by fall over Brodhead/Juda's Zack Bennett. In round four, Enloe won by fall over Dodgeville's Jack Dougherty. Enloe won the fifth place match by decision over Lancaster's Isaac Oyen.
Jack Deiderich (18-17), wrestling in the 152 lb weight class, placed fourth and scored 13 team points. In round one Diederich won by decision over Parkview's Korben Brown, and in round two he won by fall over Pecatonica/Argyle's Dalton Turner. Round three saw Diederich lose by fall to Cayden Milz of Darlington/Black Hawk. Diederich lost by fall to Dodgeville's Riley Crook in the third place match.
The team traveled to a Match at Turner High School on December 5th, and will be hosting their own Invitational at the New Glarus High School on Saturday, December 9th, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
