Wildcat Volleyball Beats New Glarus

The Belleville volleyball team hosted New Glarus on September 12, winning in three, 25-15; 25-17; 25-13.
Belleville's Rachael Heittola had nine kills, one block, six aces and three digs, while Jade Halvensleben had five kills, two blocks and two aces. Abby Winterburn had two aces and five assists. Samantha Trainor had ten assists and teammate Sophia Grady had five assists. Ellie Gentilli led the team with seven digs.
Leading New Glarus in kills was Willow Lee with ten. Julia Barnaby had four kills and two aces for the team, while Riley Parker had 15 assists. Lily Himmelman had three blocks and Olivia Xistris had six digs.
On September 14th, the Wildcats played at Waterloo, losing in three, 15-25; 17-25; 19-25.
"Unfortunately our starting libero was out sick tonight, which had a major impact on our confidence," stated Coach Kelsey Schmit. "I look forward to seeing this team again when we are all healthy."
Rachael Heittola led the team in digs, with ten, along with leading with six blocks. Jade Halvensleben had four blocks and four digs. Jenna Shrader had one blocks, Erin Kittleson had one ace, Sam Trainor had 11 assists and Ellie Gentilli had eight digs.
On Saturday, September 16th, the team traveled to Iowa-Grant for a tournament.
Belleville vs Portage – 22-25; 25-25; 15-12
Kill leaders were Rachael Heittola with seven and Jade Halvensleben with six. Block leaders were Rachael Heittola with five and Jade Halvensleben with two. Ace leaders were Sam Trainor and Ellie Gentilli, both with two aces. Sam Trainor was the assist leader with ten. Dig leaders were Ellie Gentilli with seven and Erin Kittleson with four.
Belleville vs Highland – 20-25; 25-12; 15-7
Leading with kills at four apiece were Rachael Heittola and Jade Halvensleben. Halvensleben was also the block leader, with four. Heittola was the ace leader with two. The assist leader, with eight, was Sam Trainor. Dig leaders were Ellie Gentilli with ten and Erin Kittleson with five.
Belleville vs Iowa-Grant – 25-21; 24-26; 10-15
Kill leaders were Rachael Heittola with 11 and Jade Halvensleben with five. Heittola led in blocks with three. The ace leader was Abby Winterburn with three. Assist leaders were Sam Trainor with nine and Abby Winterburn with eight. The dig leader was Ellie Gentilli, with 12.
Belleville vs Senenca – 15-25; 10-25
Jade Halvensleben led in kills and blocks with three, while Sam Trainor had two blocks, one ace and six assists. Dig leaders were Ellie Gentilli with eight and Erin Kittleson with four.
Belleville vs Mineral Point – 25-15; 25-16
Rachael Heittola led with nine kills and five blocks. Jade Halvensleben and Sam Trainor had two blocks each, and Trainor had 12 assists. Ace leaders were Abby Winterburn and Erin Kittleson with two each, and Winterburn had five assists. Ellie Gentilli was the dig leader with five.
The Wildcats played at Cambridge on September 19th, and will host Marshall for Parent's Night on Tuesday, September 26th.
