DAIS Recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Throughout October, communities across the country will mourn for those whose lives were taken by domestic violence, celebrate the tremendous progress advocates have made over the years and connect with one another to end domestic violence.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month evolved from the “Day of Unity” held in October 1981, by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence to connect advocates across the nation who were working to end violence against women and their children.
