New Glarus Volleyball Gains Valuable Experience at Brodhead Invitational

The New Glarus volleyball team played at Waterloo on September 5th. They lost all three sets, 11-25, 0-25, 18-25.

Willow Lee led the team with five kills, while Riley Parker had four assists and Caitlin Weiser had four digs.

On September 7th, New Glarus hosted Cambridge, losing in four. The set scores were 26-24, 24-26, 16-25, 19-25.

Julia Barnaby had 10 kills and three blocks. Willow Lee had eight kills. Riley Parker had 18 assists. Olivia Xistris had five digs, while Emma Eicher had four.

On Saturday, September 9th, the team played at the Brodhead Invitational.

“All six seniors were gone today,” said Coach Jenna Piche. “Played with a young roster, giving them Varsity competition experience. We made progress with each match. Great development day.”

The team lost to Evansville 8-25 and 10-25, lost to Juda 14-25, 18-25, lost to Albany 12-25 and 14-25, and lost to Monticello 14-25 and 23-25.

Mackenzie Weiss led the team with 11 kills. Lily Himmelman had seven kills and four blocks. Haiden Zimmerman had five blocks. Jada Malaise had 13 assists. Megan Bellefeuille had 12 digs, while Brooke Watrud had 10 digs.

New Glarus is 0-12 overall this season. They played at Belleville on September 12th and will host Wisconsin Heights on September 14th and will compete in the Iowa-Grant Invitational on September 16th.
