Swim Team Hosts Monona Grove

The Monroe/New Glarus swim team hosted Monona Grove on Tuesday, August 22nd. The Varsity team won over Monona Grove, 92-78.
“This is the girls first conference meet win in over a year, so they were ecstatic at the end!” said Coach Linda Moser.
Madelyn Hammer placed first in both of her events. In the 200 Meter Free, she finished in a time of 2:16.11 and in the 100 Meter Free her time was 1:01.10.
Placing first in both of her events was Mekenzie Hammer. In the 200 Meter IM she finished with a time of 2:35.45, and in the 100 Meter Breaststroke she finished with a time of 1:22.48.
Nina Schiro placed second in the 400 Meter Free with a time of 5:23.35, and second in the 100 Meter Backstroke with a time of 1:15.55.
In the 100 Meter Breaststroke, Francesca Schiro placed second with a time of 1:30.06, and in the 200 Meter Free she placed third, with a time of 2:28.36.
In the 200 Meter IM, Kendra Wenger placed fifth with a time of 3:16.01, and in the 100 Meter Freestyle she placed sixth, with a time of 1:14.68.
Swimming for the JV team were Dee DelForge and Libby Fuller. Dee finished first in the 200 Free with a time of 2:54.81 and second in the 100 Meter Free with a time of 1:18.39. Libby placed second in the 200 Meter Free with a time of 3:06.75, and fourth in the 100 Meter Butterfly with a time of 1:53.78.
