On Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at 6:28 a.m., Green County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Monticello Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on State Highway 69 near Gutzmer Road, in the Town of Washington.

It was discovered that a southbound motorcycle, ridden by Alvin J. Thomas, 54, Mount Horeb, had collided with a northbound semi-tanker driven by Randall A. Sager, 56, Rock City, IL. Thomas was ejected from his motorcycle and the tanker overturned, spilling nearly 6,000 gallons of whey into the ditch.
