Sugar River Girls Tie for First at Deerfield Classic

May 11, 2017

The Sugar River Raiders track team competed at Lodi against Marshall on May 2nd.

“Going into today’s dual with Marshall we knew that we were going to get their best shot, particularly on the girls side.  They have some really nice athletes who can perform and step up when competition starts,” said Coach Willy Johnson.  “We didn’t have our best performances, but were able to prevail because of the depth of our team. As far as the boys side goes, the boys needed to do what they kept doing all year.  Both teams took one more step up the ladder and will await the outcome of the dual with Heights next week to determine the Southern Capitol Conference dual champs.  It’s going to be exciting as I know the boys will be pushed to the limit in this meet.”
