Final Community Informational Meeting On The Highway 69 – River Street Closure
May 4, 2017
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southwest Region will hold a public information meeting to preview the upcoming reconstruction project on WIS 69 in the Village of Belleville. The meeting will be held from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., on May 10th, at the Sugar River Senior Center, 21 S. Vine Street, Belleville.
As with any construction project, the tentative date of May 1, 2017 has come and gone. WE Energies ran into a glitch in moving the gas lines along the construction route, as well as, the spring rains.
The reconstruction project is expected to begin the week of May 22nd. Work will replace the deteriorating pavement and make various geometric improvements. The Village of Bellville will also be replacing sanitary and water main utilities.
The highway will be closed to through traffic and detoured during construction. Access to local residents, businesses and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
All the key project managers from DOT, as well as James Rinzel with H. James & Sons, Inc., the prime contractor, will be there to discuss the project operations timeline. If you have questions and concerns, this is the meeting to get them addressed.
If you are unable to attend the meetings, or would like more information, contact Mahesh Shrestha at (608) 245-2674 or mahesh.shrestha@got.wi.gov. Additional project information is found under Plans and Studies at http://www.wisconsindot.gov.
