Monticello Track Team Participates in River Ridge Track Meet

On Tuesday, April 18th, the Monticello track team traveled to Bloomington to compete in the River Ridge Track Meet. Both the boys and girls teams placed fifth in the meet.
Boys Results
Max Hoffmaster won the 100-Meter race, with a time of 11.69, a new PR for him. Kyle Walters placed eighth with a time of 12.87, another PR.
Max Hoffmaster won the 200-Meter race with a time of 24.62. Kyle Walters placed eighth and set a new PR, with a time of 26.70.
In the 400-Meter race, Robert Burt, setting a PR, placed fourth with a time of 1:01.45.
Competing in the 800-Meter race was Sam Allard (3:03.00). Allard took seventh place in the 1600-Meter race, setting a PR, with a time of 6:11.00.
Bryss Shover, who broke a 10-year-old school record at a meet on April 13th, went ahead and broke it again in the Shot Put event, with a throw of 45-00.50, which earned him first place. Kyle Walters placed eighth, with a PR of 36-07.00. Max Hoffmaster (31-10.00) also competed in the event.
In the Discus event, Bryss Shover placed fourth with a final of 109-03. Kyle Walters took ninth place with a final of 91-07.
Girls Results
Alyssen Noriega took won the 100-Meter race with a time of 13.08. Marissa Peterson (14.89-PR), Ali Risley (14.94-PR) and Karlene Walters (15.83) also competed in this race.
In the 200-Meter race, Alyssen Noriega placed third with a time of 28.69. Coming in at seventh place was Ali Risley, with a time of 31.73. Marissa Peterson (35.70) also competed in the event.
Placing third in the 400-Meter race, and setting a new PR, was Alyssen Noriega with a time of 1:06.50.
In the 800-Meter race Abby Wicker placed fourth, with a time of 2:45.75. Placing tenth was Maggie Bak with a time of 2:53.39. Maddee Holtz (2:55.00-PR) also competed in the race.
Abby Wicker won the 1600-Meter race, with a time of 6:10.89. Maggie Bak placed second, with a time of 6:12.15. Coming in at fifth place was Maddee Holtz with a PR time of 6:33.00.
Marissa Peterson placed second in the 300m Hurdles with a time of 57.70.
In the Shot Put event, Ali Risley threw a PR distance of 23-11.00.
In the Long Jump, Karlene Walters took ninth place, with a final of 10-09.00.
On Friday, April 21st, the team participated in the Jim Church Invitational in Brodhead, but as of press time, results from that meet were not available.
