Youth Mental Health in Our Community
April 27, 2017
Is it just a phase or a serious problem? Is my child coping well with life’s ups and downs? Is my child’s behavior normal or is there a serious problem that I am not aware of? These are a few of the many questions faced by parents. Our children face many demands that create stress. These demands often come from outside sources, such as family, jobs, friends, or school. But it also can come from within, often related to what they think they should be doing versus what they’re actually able to do.
On Wednesday, May 3, 2017, in the Belleville High School Auditorium, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the School District of Belleville, along with the Belleville Area Cares Coalition is sponsoring an evening with professionals on the topic of Youth Mental Health in Our Community. Speakers to include David M. Deci, M.D., Associate Professor and Director, Office of Medical Student Education Department of Family Medicine and Tim Perry MSSW, LICSW, LMFT, CCS, Administrator of Crosswords Counseling in Janesville, WI. Mr. Deci and Mr. Perry will join Racheal Hansen, Psychologist, Belleville School District, and a local Belleville High School student as panelist.
Remember, our children are facing many demands that create stress. They need guidance and understanding from their parents and teachers. This support can help your child achieve his or her full potential and succeed in school and in life. Please consider attending this very necessary and timely community presentation. It might help you learn how to handle your child’s difficult emotions and behaviors.
