The Green County Council of the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary honored four public service personnel at their monthly meeting in Monticello on Sunday April 23, 2017.
Rachel Anderson, of the New Glarus Area Emergency Medical Service, received the award as the EMT of the Year. The Fireman of the Year was Trent Gerber, of the Brodhead Fire Protection District. The Law Officer of the Year was Lieutenant Jeff Sturdevant, of the New Glarus Police Department. The Enlisted National Guard/Reservist of the Year was SSG James D. Hataway, of the 994th Air Force Reserve Security Forces Squadron.
The honorees were recognized for their services to the citizens of communities in Green County. Examples of the special sacrifices made by each of the honorees were provided by their supervisors.
