On Saturday, March 18th, sixteen Raider youth wrestlers took to the mats at four different qualifying sites. At the end of the day, five qualified for State, placing 1st or 2nd, and four were alternates, placing 3rd! Very exciting for Sugar River youth wrestling.
Wrestling at Sauk Prairie was Zecheriah Bair, taking 1st place going 4-0-1 for his second trip to state in two years! Also Trei Udelhoven is returning for his second trip, bringing home 2nd place going 5-1 with four pins. Trei finished 4th last year. Nice job boys!
Wrestling at Westby, Eli Leonard brought home 2nd place going 3-1-0 for his first trip to state! Blake Endres came up just short, taking 3rd going 3-2-0. Blake was a qualifier in 2016.
Wrestling at Oconomowoc, Lincoln Bair had a tough day, going 0-2.

Eli Leonard went 3-1 for the day, losing 2-4 in OT at Westby Saturday qualifying him for State.
Finally, at Sun Prairie, Aiden Hatleberg wrestled to 3-0 in his matches with a pin taking 1st, and Alex Zielinski also 3-0-1 bringing home 1st place. This is Aiden's first trip to State and Alex's second. Way to go guys! Here are the rest of the boys' results: Rayden Taylor, 3rd, 0-2-0; Cayson Helwig, 3rd, 1-2-0; Joe Quaglia, 3rd, 2-2-2. All three of these boys are alternates, meaning they could wrestle at state pending a call someone is injured, sick, or can't make weight!
Cole Meighan, 1-2-0; Mason Mau, 4th, 2-2-2; Ryker Swenson, 1-2-0; Garrett Pauli, 4th, 2-2-1; Justin Pauli, 4th, 0-3; and Avery Lettman, 1-2-0. Boys wrestled tough! Proud of them all.
Wrestling takes place at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison on Saturday the 25th! Come support the youth wrestlers.
As of press time, Joe Quaglia, an alternate, received a call from the WWF to wrestle. Very exciting news for Joe and family! Congratulations to everyone heading to Youth State Wrestling next weekend!
