Belleville Wins Over Deerfield and Lake Mills

The Lady Wildcats held a 13-point lead at halftime in the game at Deerfield on February 13th, and kept the pace through the second half to win. The final score was Belleville 60, Deerfield 44.
"We played a pretty solid game from start to finish. I think our press gave them some trouble, we were able to create several quick turnovers," said Coach Sean Greenleaf. "We also were very balanced with our scoring, with Grace Schulting, Krista Diaz and Rachael Heittola each scoring 14 points."
Three Wildcats players scored 14 points apiece to lead the team in scoring, Grace Schulting, Krista Diaz and Rachael Heittola. Schulting also had six rebounds, three steals and one assist, while Diaz had five rebounds, five steals and four assists, and Heittola had 13 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
On February 16, Belleville hosted Lake Mills. Up by only 1-point at the half, the Lady Wildcats squeaked by Lake Mills and won the game. The final score was Belleville 62, Lake Mills 57.
"Lake Mills may be the best 2-20 team in the state," commented Greenleaf. "They played hard and caused a few issues for us for a time, but we regrouped at halftime to come away with a very hard fought 5-point win."
Pouring in 22 points for the Wildcats was Grace Schulting. Schulting also had five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Rachael Heittola scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks. Aimee Sies put 10 points on the board, and had five rebounds, one assist and three blocks.
The Wildcats played a WIAA Regional at Parkview on February 21st. They ended their season with a 7-3 record in the Capitol South.
