Patches and Petals Participating In "Go Red For Women"
February 1st marked the first day of American Heart Month 2017. Did you know that heart disease and stroke kills 1 in 3 women – more than all cancers combined? It’s true, but you can help change that grim statistic, because 80% of cardiac events may be prevented with education and life style change.
It’s key for women to understand the early signs of cardiovascular disease. In celebration of American Heart Month, Patches and Petals, along with the fourteen other members of the South Central Wisconsin Quilt Shop Association, are sponsoring the Heart of Quilting Shop Hop. Each participating shop encourages you to come and see what’s new in the quilting industry, as well as look at all the items their shop created for the silent auction being held on-line at http://www.32auctions.com/SCWQSA February 14th through the 28th. All auction proceeds go to the American Heart Association. The goal is to raise $7,500 this month. These red and white items range from full quilts to bags all donated by the shops and their customers. Last year these shops donated $5,300 to American Heart and with your help hope to make more this year.
In addition, these shops encourage quilts and non-quilters to visit their shops to see what’s new in the quilting industry, as well as review the items that will be auctioned off. Each store has set up a red and white display of fabrics and samples. Red and white quilts continue to be a favorite of quilt collectors. Celebrate the Heart of Quilting Shop Hop in the whole month of February. Additional information on the Shop Hop can be found at http://www.wishophop.com.
