American Diabetes Association Alert Day

 


According to the CDC, almost 29.1 million people in the United States have diabetes, or 9.3% of the population!  While an estimated 21 million have been diagnosed, unfortunately, 86 million have pre-diabetes. The estimated total of direct and indirect costs for this disease is 245 billion dollars.

Diabetes Alert Day, sponsored by the American Diabetes Association, is held every fourth Tuesday in March. It is a one-day “wake-up call” asking the American public to take the Diabetes Risk Test to find out if they are at risk for developing Type 2 diabetes. This disease is increasing by...
