The New Glarus Gift of Community Reception will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the New Glarus Hotel Restaurant. This year’s event is different from past years – it’s a free reception and open to the public. There will be free appetizers, door prizes, a cash bar, and a Silent Auction to benefit the New Glarus Community Foundation Fund.

Once again this year, the Bank of New Glarus is assisting in the collection of Silent Auction donations. If you or your business/organization would like to donate an item for the Silent Auction, please drop it off at the Highway 69 Bank of New Glarus location during regular business hours. The deadline for Silent Auction donations is Wednesday, March 1st.

All proceeds from the Silent Auction go into our New Glarus Community Foundation Fund, part of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin - http://www.cfsw.org. Money contributed to the New Glarus Community Foundation – whether from the Silent Auction proceeds or from donations/pledges – go into a permanent endowment, the income from which is used to fund grants.

The New Glarus Community Foundation distributes grants to improve the quality in life in New Glarus. Projects funded by the Foundation have included public health/safety, cultural events, youth activities, historical preservation, and recreation/sports.

The 2017 Gift of Community committee members are Denise Anton Wright, Julie Jennrich, Anthony Edge, and Tammy Newberry, with assistance from Suzi Janowiak, Margie Irland, and Kaye Gmur.
