Grace Schulting (5) drives the ball down the court during Monday's win against Cambridge last week.

The Lady Wildcats played against Cambridge twice last week.

The first game was played at home on January 30th. After taking a commanding lead at the half, Belleville stayed ahead of the Bluejays in the second and came away with a 73-54 win.

Grace Schulting poured in 22 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Rachael Heittola scored 18 points, had 17 rebounds and had three blocks and one steal. Three Wildcat players also scored 7 points each – Lucy Grady, Aimee Sies and Kalin O'Rourke.

On February 2nd, the team headed to Cambridge for a rematch. Cambridge was ahead by 2 points at the half, but Belleville fought back to take the win. The final score was Belleville 64, Cambridge 61.

"We got down by 10 in the second half but our kids just refused to give up. The toughness of this team really showed up tonight. We rode the hot hand of Grace (Schulting) in the second half and stepped up our defense when we needed to," said Coach Sean Greenleaf. "Grace has been leading this team all season and tonight was no exception. She stepped up big time for us and refused to quit...this team refused to quit! It's never easy to play a team in back to back games, but our girls handled it about as well as could be expected. Bottom line is we came away with two huge conference wins."
