Dolores E. Hanson, age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Ingleside Manor, Mount Horeb, in the loving presence of her family. She was born on October 4, 1929, in Primrose Township, WI, to Thomas and Beulah (Rear) Slotten.

She was united in marriage to Lowell Hanson on December 25, 1948, at Primrose Lutheran Church. They farmed in the Mount Horeb area and raised seven children. Lowell passed away September 9, 2008. Her pride and joy was her family whom she loved dearly. Dolores was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took pride and pleasure in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participate in school and church activities, attending as many of their events as possible. She was strong in her faith and was a devoted member of Springdale Lutheran Church, participating in many areas of service, including as a Sunday School teacher, Choir member, Ruth Circle and Women of ELCA member. She was a friend to many, always there to provide encouragement or care.

She is survived by her children, Janet (Steve) Narveson, Hayward, Jim (Cheryl) Hanson, Mount Horeb, Barb (Tom) Secor, Savage, MN, Diane (Dewey) Haag, Bob Hanson, and Ann (John) Wyss, all of Mount Horeb; grandchildren, Lindsey Thompson, Jenny and Michelle Narveson, Jason (Amanda) Hanson, Eric (Alison) Hanson, Kevin (Jessica) Hanson, Josh (Lindsay) Secor, Brad and Travis Haag, Cody Hanson, Kiarra Eith, Natalie and Sydney Wyss; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Owen Hanson, Lydia and Marin Hanson and Hailey and Kristen Hanson; sister-in-law, Marie Slotten; and brothers-in-law, Harlan Dahlk and John Scharer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell; and daughter, Deb Thompson; parents; parents-in-law; her brothers and their wives, Orvin and Shirley Slotten, Sylvester ("Stub") and Dorothy Slotten, Gene Slotten and Grant Slotten; two brothers in infancy, Thomas and Robert; foster brother, Reuben Clark; and sisters-in-law, Ardys Dahlk and Lois Scharer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Springdale Lutheran Church, 2752 Town Hall Road, Mount Horeb, with Pastor Jeff Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017, from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., at Ellestad Camacho Funeral Home, 500 N. 8th Street, Mount Horeb, WI.

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to Springdale Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or Building Fund, Agrace HospiceCare, or a charity of your choice.
