New Glarus Native To Appear on ABC-TV's "Shark Tank"
Amelia Cosgrove, a 1999 graduate of New Glarus High School, will appear on the ABC-TV hit show Shark Tank on Friday, January 27. Shark Tank airs at 8:00 p.m. on Madison’s WKOW-TV27.
Cosgrove and her husband, Bryan Thomas, will ask the show’s panel of venture capitalist “sharks” to invest in their start-up business, PopUpPlayToy.com. PopUpPlayToy.com gives kids the opportunity to design and build their own fantasy castle, playhouse or other structure online. The life-size play structure is custom manufactured from heavy-duty cardboard to the child’s specifications and delivered to their door in only a few days. Cosgrove and Thomas launched the company in 2016. They live in Austin, Texas.
Shark Tank, now in its eighth season, is the recipient of the 2015 and 2014 Emmy Award for Outstanding Structured Reality Program. The Sharks - tough, self-made, multi-millionaire and billionaire tycoons - give people from all walks of life the chance to chase the American dream, and potentially secure business deals that could make them millionaires, and make money for the sharks.
The Sharks are billionaire Mark Cuban, owner and chairman of AXS TV and outspoken owner of the NBA Dallas Mavericks; real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran; “Queen of QVC” Lori Greiner; technology innovator Robert Herjavec; fashion and branding expert Daymond John; and venture capitalist Kevin O’Leary.
