Dear Editor,

Our names are Katherine Burgess, Kaitlyn Peterson and Kortney Peterson. We are in a school organization called Jr. FCCLA and we were trying to collect blankets and stuffed animals. The blankets go to a program at our school District (New Glarus School District) called Caring For Kids and the stuffed animals go to the New Glarus Area EMS and the Green County EMS.

We had a competition between the grades at our school to see who could donate the most items. We had our chapter help spread the word to people in the community. We went to Roy’s Market on December 23rd for two hours. While we were there, we asked people to donate money towards the cause. With the money we were able to buy 20 blankets overall. We were able to buy seven fabrics to make tie blankets. We were also able to collect money from Walmart in Monroe. Because our drive at school turned out so well, we didn’t need to get any more stuffed animals.

We would like to thank those who donated money and items to help our project. We would also like to thank Roy’s Market for allowing us to fundraiser in their store and Walmart in Monroe for donating $50 to help our project. Thank you!
