To keep the upcoming holiday season from becoming a time of tragedy, the New Glarus and Belleville Police Departments will mobilize for the statewide “Booze and Belts” traffic safety campaign from December 15 to January 1.

In a joint statement, New Glarus Police Sergeant Jeff Sturdevant and Belleville Police Chief Bill Eichelkraut stated, “During the Booze and Belts mobilization, our officers will increase our patrol efforts to prevent needless traffic deaths and injuries by arresting drunken drivers and enforcing the mandatory safety belt law.”
