A Word About Credit Card Skimmers
Recently, unknown subjects have victimized gasoline retailers in the Madison, Green County and Southern Wisconsin areas by surreptitiously placing “credit card skimmers” on their gas pumps. This installation is typically completed during off hours when the stations are closed and unbeknownst to the retailer.
A credit card skimmer is a small electronic device that is usually installed either internally or externally on the gasoline pumps. This device is then used to capture credit/debit card information whenever a customer uses the credit or debit card feature at the pump.
