Wednesday, September 14th

All boys and girls in 1st through 8th grade interested in playing basketball this season, please attend! Parents – please plan to sign your son or daughter up if interested in participating in Belleville’s youth program this season.

An informational meeting for parents will be held at 7:00 p.m., in the High School Gymnasium, on Wednesday, September 14th. Registration will follow, from 7:15 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

For 1st and 2nd grade, we will be organizing skill sessions that will be held on the following Saturdays: November 5, November 12, November 19, December 3, December 10 and December 17 (exact times will be communicated at a later date).

For 3rd grade, teams will play in games on Saturdays in Belleville, as well as Verona, Mount Horeb and possibly Barneveld, with practice time in Belleville. Exact schedule to follow.

For 4th through 8th grade, teams will play games on Saturdays in a tournament format, with three games at each tournament. Depending on how many kids are interested at each grade level, we will use a skills evaluation process conducted by the High School coaching staff. For 4th through 6th grade, teams will be divided as evenly as possible. For 7th and 8th grade, teams will be divided into an “A” and “B” structure. Information about possible player evaluations will follow.

*Please note, the High School coaches and the Youth Board reserve the right to split teams how they see best fit per grade level on a yearly basis. These decisions are based on informal evaluations (camps, summer school, etc.) and projected numbers.

Practices will start in early-to-mid November, and the season will run through February/early March. An exact practice and tournament schedule will be released closer to November.

We will be collecting money for the league at this time – 1st – 2nd grade (cost is $25 and each player will receive a basketball), 3rd – 8th grade cost is $65 per player, with total fees not to exceed $120 per family. Checks can be made payable to Belleville Youth Basketball. 3rd grade cost includes a t-shirt/jersey. For 4th graders and any other players new to the program (4th – 8th only), you will also need to purchase a jersey through Belleville Embroidery – Jill Hubbard will be on hand with sizes and ordering information.
