Wildcats Chew Up Bulldogs

After an interception by #44 Drew Shrader, #25 Cade Martin leads the way blocking to gain some yards. 

The Belleville Wildcats headed to Boscobel on Friday, August 26th, to take on the Bulldogs. The Wildcats easily won the game. The final score was Belleville 24, Boscobel 6.

Junior Dalton Fahey scored the first touchdown of the game on a 3-yard pass from senior Dan Meier in the first quarter. Late in the second quarter, senior Cade Martin scored a touchdown, bringing the score to 12-0. The Bulldogs' Preston Baker scored a touchdown in the middle of the third quarter, but Boscobel failed at their two-point conversion attempt. Martin scored the next two touchdowns for the Wildcats, the first on a 37-yard run, and the second on a 19-yard run.

Running Back #25 Cade Martin completed the night with 284 rushing yards.

"The Offensive Line dominated for a second game in a row. They set the tone and led the team to 350 yards rushing. Cade Martin had a huge game, rushing for 284 yards. Luke Kelly and Ogden York complimented him in the rushing game to propel the team to a 2-0 to start on the season," explained Head Coach Chase Ritter. "The defense stepped up once again to only allow one touchdown. The aggressiveness of the defense forced three turnovers, two of which were interceptions by Drew Shrader. The team continues to grow more confident and looks to build on its success."

Sophomore Luke Kelly ended the game with 21 yards rushing and Ogden York, a freshman, had a total of 56 yards rushing.

Belleville will host the Columbus Cardinals on Friday, September 2nd. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
