Dear Editor and New Glarus Area Blood Donors,

Thank you all so much for helping us over achieve our goals last Friday (August 19). We were given a goal of 65 pints of blood, we sent the Red Cross 82 pints! You all ROCK on your dedication to helping others in their time of often life or death need. As a matter of fact, just the other day a guy in our community started bleeding and needed eight pints of blood by the time he got to the hospital!

Comments from our Charge Nurse: “Thank you so much for all your hard work, everyone did a great job. Have a fabulous rest of your summer. Deferrals – 8, Doubles-8 for 16 units! Thanks!! Courtney”

Once again I heard many great comments about the New Glarus Lunch being the best, that would not be possible without the generous donations from our Home Bakers and Business Food Donors: Eloise Kuenzi, New Glarus Dairy, Butch and Beau Alderman, Tom and Linda Coughlin, Mardele Elmer, Ruth Anderegg, Betty Henning, Cheryl Bergum, Culver’s Coupons, Alp & Dell Cheese, Edelweiss Cheese, Maple Leaf Cheese, Glarner Stube, Ruef’s Meats, Hoesly’s Meats, New Glarus Bakery, Nancy Marty-Piece of Cake.

It made my day when a couple of volunteers admitted, “this was fun, I’ll do it again!”
