Belleville Fire Department Under New Leadership

The Belleville Fire Department has elected new leadership with the retirement of Ron Babler, after 44 years of service with the Department.

Brian Hollis has been elected Chief, and began his new role in February under dual Chiefs, and as of Monday night, May 23, he takes on sole leadership.

Also elected to two-year terms are the following: Deputy Chief, Chanse Kaczmarski; Assistant Chief, Doug Augustin; Captains, Dan Endres, Jeff Kenkel, Brady McSherry; Lieutenants (appointed by the Chief), Aaron Betts, Fire Inspector; Joe Gastel, Secretary/Treasurer; Mike O’Connor, Safety Officer; Johan Veeneman, Fire Inspector; Justin Mertes, Training.

These new officers are charged with the job of continuing to move the Belleville Fire Department forward and continuing to provide our Fire District with the best fire protection possible.  Belleville Fire has made great strides under the leadership of Tom Adams and Ron Babler, both long-time members and officers of the Department, and the new leadership is charged with continuing those efforts.  While it is a great challenge, we are sure that they are the right people for the job and will continue the Department’s fine traditions.
