On Thursday, May 12, 2016, a fire was reported at home on Vista Lane, south of Bellevile.

Belleville Fire and EMS responded, along with personnel and equipment from New Glarus, Brooklyn, Monticello, Verona, Albany and Mount Horeb Fire Departments, as well as the Green County Sheriff's Department.

Unfortunately the home was a total loss. Friends and family stepped up to assist the families that lived in the home, and had lost nearly everything.
