The 2016 Green County Breakfast on the Farm will be hosted Saturday, May 28, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at Jeglum's Twayne Valley Farm, located at N8879 Sunnyside Road, north of Blanchardville, WI, off Highway 78. Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for children 6 – 10 years of age and children 5 years and under are free.

This year marks the 37th edition of this annual event, featuring a delicious farm breakfast, live musical entertainment and fabulous educational displays, including a special sawmill demonstration area. The Green County Agricultural Chest organizes the celebration with generous support from area businesses and individuals, including Platinum Sponsors, Colony Brands of Monroe and Badgerland Financial.

Twayne Valley Farm is owned and operated by Wayne and Tammy Jeglum. The couple married in 1982, and began their farming journey together when they moved back to Wayne's home farm in the spring in 1986. They purchased the farm from Wayne's parents, Herman and Marlene, one year later. Throughout the years, Herman has remained active in the farming operation.

The Jeglums currently milk 40 cows twice a day in a stanchion barn and raise their own replacement heifers. The home farm includes 323 acres, but with additional rented land, Wayne and Tammy crop 525 acres of corn, alfalfa, wheat, oats, and soybeans to feed their animals. They have a small beef herd and sell any remaining crops. Tammy also works off the farm at the Mount Horeb School Intermediate Center as a paraprofessional.

Over the years, the Jeglums have made many improvements to the farm, including adding buildings and sheds to house their animals and make the farming operation more labor efficient.

Wayne and Tammy have two grown daughters, Diane (Brian) Schlafli and Stephanie (Travis) Holmes. They also have seven grandchildren, Karter, Griffin, Chelsea and Sawyer Schlafli and Riley, Claire and Hunter Holmes. They all enjoy spending time at the farm as much as possible.
