Knights Lose Close Game to Luther Prep

Maya Kramer went two for four at bat with one run and one RBI in the close game against Luther Prep.
On April 18th, the New Glarus softball team hosted Johnson Creek. The Knights lost the game, 11-9.
The two teams were fairly evenly matched throughout the game. In the fifth inning, the Knights scored five runs, putting them ahead by three. They weren't able to keep that momentum going however, as Johnson Creek scored twice in the sixth and put three runners over home plate in the seventh inning.
Pitcher Riley Parker struck out three from the mound in seven innings. She racked up 26 first pitch strikes.
Maya Kramer had two RBIs on three hits. Kramer tripled in the first inning and singled in the third and fifth. Riley Parker was 2-4 at the plate and scored one run. Nikki Bushee was 2-2 at the plate with one run. Lydia Sprecher and Noelle Austin had two RBIs apiece.
On April 19th, the Knights headed to Watertown to face Luther Prep. Despite outhitting Luther Prep nine to six, the girls lost by one run, 4-3.
The game was scoreless until Luther Prep put one across home plate in the second inning. New Glarus managed one run in the sixth. In the seventh inning, New Glarus rallied with two runs scored to take the lead, but Luther Prep battled back in the bottom of the seventh and defeated the Knights.
Jessica Van Dusen allowed no earned runs, six hits and one walk during her time on the mound. She struck out seven players.
Maya Kramer went 2 for 4 at bat, with one run and one RBI. Grace Moen was 2 for 4 at bat and had one RBI. Noelle Austin went 2 for 3 at bat.
On Friday, April 22nd, the Knights hosted Waterloo and lost, 5-1. Waterloo came out swinging in the first inning, and put three runners across home plate. New Glarus answered with one run. In the third inning, Waterloo scored another two runners. Neither team would score another run during the rest of the game. Jessica Van Dusen struck out three batters.
Madison Perkins scored one run for the Knights on Jessica Van Dusen's RBI. Ashley Judd, Jessica Van Dusen and Noelle Austin were all 1-3 at the plate.
On April 26th the team played Cambridge and on the 28th they head to Wisconsin Heights.
