The Monticello Ponies track team participated in the Jim Church Invitational in Brodhead on April 22nd.

In the girls 200-Meter Dash, Marissa Peterson placed fourth in heat one, with a time of 32.43. In heat three, Alyssen Noriega placed second with a time of 27.40 – she placed sixth in the 200-Meter Dash final. Noriega also ran in the 400-Meter Dash, placing ninth with a time of 1:07.5.

In the 1600-Meter Run, Abby Wicker placed fifth, with a time of 5:51.6. Ashley Risley (6:18.4) also ran this event. Wicker also ran in the 800-Meter Run, placing fifth with a time of 2:36.8.

Ashley Risley placed tenth in the 3200-Meter Run, with a time of 13.58.0.

Monticello’s girls relay team for the 4x200-Meter Relay placed ninth, with a time of 2:01.2.

In the 300m Hurdles, Marissa Peterson finished in sixth, with a time of 63.51.

Samantha Gierhart (20-2), Emily Koch (20-0) Sienna Coldiron (23-6.75) all participated in the Shot Put event. Gierhart (58-4), Koch (54-6) and Coldiron (65-4) also participated in Discus.

On the boys side, Max Hoffmaster placed third in heat one of the 100-Meter Dash with a time of 12.28, with an over all placing of eighth in the finals (13.6).

Running in heat one of the 200-Meter Dash, Max Hoffmaster placed fourth with a time of 27.25. Andy Yaun placed second in heat two with 24.34. In heat three, Cody Garfoot placed third with a time of 25.96. Garfoot placed seventh in the finals, with a time of 26.7.

In section one of the 400-Meter Dash, Cody Garfoot placed third with a time of 1:03.0.

Sam Allard (6:30.1) ran in the 1600-Meter Run for the Ponies.

Austin Koch (23-10.5), Kyle Walters (31-2) and Bryss Shover (36-5) all participated in Shot Put. Koch (66-11), Walters (87-9) and Shover 108-3) also participated in Discus.

The Ponies traveled to Black Hawk on the 25th, and will go to Cuba City on the 28th.
