Library Celebrating National Library Week

The Belleville Public Library will be holding a week-long celebration during April 10-16 for National Library Week.  Many of the events are sponsored by the Friends of the Belleville Public Library.  All are free, open to the public, and will be held at Belleville Public Library at 130 S. Vine Street.

On Monday, April 11, storyteller Karen Wendt will be entertaining the kids at 1:30 p.m., on early release day.

Learn about Spring Bulbs at a program co-sponsored by the Belleville Garden Club and the Friends of the Library on Tuesday, April 12, at 7:00 p.m.  Lisa Johnson is a UW-Extension Master Gardener and a frequent guest on Larry Meiller’s gardening programs on Wisconsin Public Radio.

Wednesday is Patron Appreciation Day.  Stop by the Library for some cake!

On Thursday, April 14, at 7:00 p.m., author Victoria Houston will share “The Three Major Life Mistakes I’ve Made that Force Me to Write Fishing Mysteries.” Victoria Houston is the author of the popular Loon Lake fishing mysteries set in northern Wisconsin.  A selection of the Loon Lake books are available at the library to check out.

Get together with other preschoolers and parents at Storytime on Friday at 10:00 a.m., for stories, songs, a craft, and a snack.

Bring the family to the Library on Saturday, April 16, between 9:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m., for activities for all ages.  Start a salad container garden with retired UW professor Paul Williams.  Make a bouquet of paper flowers using origami and other techniques.  Enjoy some yummy treats provided by the Friends of the Belleville Public Library.  While you are at the Library, browse our great collection of gardening and landscaping books to inspire this year’s backyard projects.
