Write-in Campaign for Green County Board
Editor,
My name is Harry Pulliam. I’m a resident of the Town of New Glarus and Chair of the Town Parks Commission. I love this area and I’m committed to the health and welfare of the folks who live here and the success of its family farms. I’m mounting a write-in campaign for a seat on the Green County Board.
On March 8th, I attended a meeting of the County Board. At that meeting, the Board voted on whether or not to fund a County-wide study of our groundwater and its susceptibility to industrial, residential or agricultural contamination. So that we don’t end up like other counties in Wisconsin, where up to a third of the residents cannot use their well water due to high concentrations of nitrates, herbicides, E. coli or other contaminants, we need the information that the study would provide. Unfortunately, the Green County Supervisor for my district (District 26, portions of New Glarus and Exeter Townships) opposes the study. He, along with seven other Board members, voted against it and the measure failed. In doing so, these seven people put the interests of a very few people before the health and safety of the entire community.
My message is simple: As County Supervisor, I will fully represent everyone in my district, with appreciation for their pocketbooks but a commitment to their health and the health of their children and grandchildren. I stand for clean water and for preserving our rural and small-town lifestyle. I urge you to VOTE on April 5th—and please write in my name, HARRY PULLIAM, for Green County Board Supervisor District 26. Thanks!
Harry Pulliam,
New Glarus
