LOUISE H. GEISLER

 

Louise "Sue" Helen Stuckey Geisler, age 85 of Janesville, died on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at home. She was born in Prairie du Chien on June 2, 1930, and was raised by her aunt and uncle, Joe and Goldie Walker of Eastman, WI.

Sue worked in Madison and Dubuque, IA, as a telephone operator during her early years. On August 26, 1950, she married Robert "Bob" Geisler in Eastman, WI, and moved to Janesville in 1955, where she raised her family and supported her husband. After Bob's retirement from General Motors, they traveled around the country. Eventually they, and several of their special friends, became snowbirds in Apache Junction, AZ. They also loved having parties on their back porch every Sunday with special friends and family. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, the VFW Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors of America, and the Foresters.

Sue is survived by her husband, Bob Geisler; two sons, Steve of Janesville and Jerry of New Glarus; daughter, Brenda Fisher of New Glarus/Evansville area; three grandchildren, Jodi (Shane) Fisher, Ryan (Melissa) Fisher and Matt Geisler; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Smith of Alsip, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Joe and Goldie Walker; birth parents, Joe and Hannah Stuckey; brother and sister-in-law, LeRoy "Bud" and Dorothy Walker; and sister, Goldie Sherrick.

A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Cargill United Methodist Church with Rev. Krysta Deede officiating. A visitation was held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the church.
