The Monarch butterfly is in trouble. Monarchs counted at their overwintering site in Mexico hit an all-time low in 2013 and have not bounced back.

"The Federal Endangered Species Coalition put Monarchs on the vanishing list in 2015," Karen Oberhauser, conservation biology professor at the University of Minnesota, told members and guests of the Blue Mounds Area Project Thursday at the second of their four-part Winter Conservation Conversations lecture series.
