Dear Editor,

A suggestion for the Monticello Village Board: the Village of Monticello and the surrounding area has been divided by selling the Legion home, so it would be nice if they would take the $159,000 and put it towards a new building for a community center, Legion, etc. $100,000 was in a fund for upkeep and the sale price of $59,000; by doing so it would take Monticello off the map for not having a community center, because I believe we are the only ones in the state without one.

Remember – two wrongs don’t make a right.

P.S. Why would anyone want to destroy a 95-year-old Legion that has done so much for Monticello?
