Sugar River Raiders Wrap up Season
On Thursday, October 29, the Raider Varsity Boys soccer team traveled once again to Goodman Pitch field at Reddan Park in Verona. This was the first game of sectionals versus last year’s state runner-up Mount Horeb. Getting in the net first was the Vikings @ 34:55. That concluded for a halftime score of 0-1. Coming back after half at 46:15, Mount Horeb scored again off a corner kick. The Raiders fought hard for the remainder of the match, but the Viking defense continued their stance. To the saddened Raider Nation, the game finished SR 0, Mount Horeb 2.
That shortened article was extremely hard for me to write so I apologize to the readers! Here is what I WANT the readers to remember from a TREMENDOUS 2015 Raider Boys Soccer season. The journey started on August 17, when practice began. The first Varsity match was a tournament in Waunakee on August 28, only eight weeks ago! Wow time flies when you’re having fun and winning! As a matter of fact, the Boys finished 19-4-1!! Nice job guys. Bringing home a conference and regional title were huge accomplishments this year! As well as beating Mount Horeb on their turf, for the first time in over seven years. That was AWESOME (if you were there). All the team dinners were so much fun as well! Thank you to all the parents for that! Finally, to the 14 Seniors that will truly be missed next year! My hats off to you all for the leadership, sportsmanship, fun, and lasting memories of this great soccer season!! I’m truly speechless. Thank you and all for now!
