Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
We read and hear more and more lately about the need to give our Veterans the thanks, encouragement and help they need. It appears that often the US government has failed in meeting its obligations to those who have served so faithfully. Change often needs to start at the bottom – not the top! What better time than Veterans Day for each one of us to make a difference. We all know of those who have so honorably served and protected our country. Spend a little time with an older vet. Let him know you are interested in his stories – if he wishes to choose. Tell him he is a living history book and THANK HIM. Whenever we see someone in uniform, let’s just smile and say THANK YOU. They may appear surprised but will be grateful. Let’s take the time to visit with the families whose loved ones gave their lives for what we so often take for granted. And as we listen to the current news of the world situation today, we all need to be in prayer for those “boots on the ground” and for our leaders who make decisions for them.
