Walk for Awareness for Pancreatic Cancer to be held Saturday, October 10

On Saturday, October 10, 2015, the second annual 5K Walk for Awareness for Pancreatic Cancer will be held in Monroe. The walk will begin at 8:00 a.m., at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School, with on-site registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. A kids run will be held at 9:00 a.m.

Registration is $25.00 the day of the walk or $20.00 for pre-registration, which can either be done online or by contacting Sheri Schaefer at seeschaefes@gmail.com.

Pancreatic cancer is currently the number four cancer killer in the country and third in Wisconsin, leading breast and colon cancer, and yet it is the least researched cancer. Numerous individuals from the Monroe community have lost or are currently losing loved ones to this killer disease and by 2020, pancreatic cancer will be the number two cancer killer in Wisconsin. Please honor someone you know by coming and joining in this walk in order to raise awareness.
