The Green County Veterans Memorial Park committee has been hard at work in developing the park to honor all Green County veterans over the last few years. Your help is needed to complete the Veterans Memorial Park in Monroe at the corner of State Highway 81 and County Road N. We hope you have been to visit the site to see and enjoy the improvements that have been made.

To complete the park, we continue to work on a $150,000 Capital Campaign. Uncompleted projects include more bronze war plaques, a helicopter and a Tribute to all Green County Veterans Wall with a list of all Green County veterans and donors to the park. Colony Brands has pledged a $10,000 matching fund gift after we meet a benchmark in fund raising.

Green County Vietnam Veterans will be honored on October 4th at a Salute to Vietnam Era Veterans to be held at the Monroe Senior High School at 12:30 p.m., program to start at 1:30 p.m. Please join us for this special program.

Please join us for pizza buffet at the Monroe Pizza Hut on September 24th, for a fundraising event from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Your support will be appreciated and also any donation will be recognized.
