Notice of Roadwork Planned for Tuesday, August 18th, 2015
County Trunk Highway O (5th Ave. & 2nd St.) From STH 39 to 2nd Street And from 5th Ave. North to Village Limits
The Green County Highway Department will be sealing the entire road surface on Tuesday, August 18th (weather dependent). A preservative asphalt sealant will be sprayed on half of the street, from the outside curb to the centerline, at a time. No parking signs will be placed the day before and any vehicle parked on these streets after 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 18th, will be towed at the owner’s expense.
The newly sealed surface needs between three and four hours to dry before traffic will be allowed back on it. No traffic on the newly sealed half of the street will be able to access businesses or residences while the sealant dries. Flagmen will be present to inform and direct traffic, and one-way traffic will be allowed on the unsealed side, or the newly sealed side once it has dried. We will make every attempt to accommodate one-way traffic through CTH O, but some delays should be expected and some side street traffic will not be able to access CTH O until the sealant has dried.
Signs will be placed at intersections and access will be only allowed to the unsealed side of CTH O. Please plan to use alternate village streets such as 6th Ave., 3rd Ave. and Railroad Street for your travel to avoid CTH O.
If there is rain or the threat of rain, the project would be expected to take place the next day. If you have further questions, feel free to call (608) 328-9411. Thank you for your cooperation during our Green County and Village of New Glarus street maintenance projects.
