Homecoming Parking Restrictions

 


The Monticello Police Department would like to invite everyone to attend the Monticello Homecoming festivities on July 10-12, 2015. We hope all will take time to enjoy this wonderful family festival. We would like to remind everyone that all alcoholic beverages must be consumed within the licensed establishments and permitted areas of the park ONLY. Those found to be consuming or possession of alcohol outside of those areas will be cited for the violation(s). Forfeiture of $200.50 per offense.

The municipal parking lot will be closed for general parking, effective Monday, July 6, 2015, at 12:01 a.m., through Monday, July 13, 2015, for the carnival set up and tear down.

Parking is limited and will be marked accordingly for enforcement. No Parking Zones are necessary to ensure safety of pedestrians and visitors for our homecoming festival.

Posted Temporary and No Parking Zones is enforced at $25.00 per offense, and vehicles can be towed at the owner’s expense.

**West Lake Avenue (CTH F) from Main Street to STH 69 will be closed at 9:30 p.m. during the fireworks display on Saturday evening, July 11, 2015. Rain delay for the fireworks will be Sunday evening.

**West side of North Avenue (Kennedy Street) by the swimming pool will be closed temporarily on Saturday, July 11, 2015, from 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., for the Kids Pedal Tractor pulling and for the local water fights starting 2:00 p.m.

**North Monroe Street, from North Avenue in a northward direction to Gempeler’s Supermarket’s north alley way will be closed down on Saturday, July 11, 2015, from 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. for the MC Pride Ride parking of motorcycles only on their return trip at 5:00 p.m. No other vehicles will be allowed to park in this area during the temporary closing.

**Parade route on Sunday, July 12, 2015, from 6:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., East Lake Avenue (CTH F) from Adams Road west and North Main Street will be closed to all parking. It will reopen safely after the parade, which begins at 2:00 p.m. All parade units will line up at the far east side of East Lake Avenue in the Industrial Park area and will end there.
